I made it. This morning I was in Iceland and via trains, planes, and automobiles, I’ve made my way to Liverpool.
Being in Iceland was a great experience but I needed to end my trip short. The whole time I was there I kept asking myself, “why am I here?”, “what am I searching for?”. I wasn’t going to find those answers by climbing mountains or trekking through snow. I spent a lot of my time in the car by myself and felt like I would be wasting my time if I didn’t make a change. The country is beautiful but another 4 days of solitude driving across the country wasn’t something I wanted to put myself through. I look forward to the day I can come back and share it with someone else!
Getting from Iceland to England was no easy task but there were so many people who helped me along the way. I know I’m just some stranger and most of these people were just doing their job but I really am grateful for all the direction and patience. This is my first time doing any of this and I’m so thankful I made it safely. I may have been by myself but checking in and talking to my family was the reassurance I needed.
I can’t WAIT for what this summer holds and I’m really looking forward to what comes next.
