Time With My Mom (#227)

I need to preface this post by saying my mom and I are incredibly alike for a lot of different reasons. We can be stubborn and emotional but also quite caring and intuitive. She and I haven’t always seen eye to eye but our relationship has dramatically improved over the past couple of years.

We spent the weekend, just us, down on the cape. We did a 9 mile morning run and got breakfast together after. It was the perfect get-away before heading back to work and school later this week. I’m grateful I got to spend that time with her and turn my phone off for a bit. I wouldn’t be who I am today without her.

Today I’m Grateful For…

  1. Morning runs with my mom
  2. Breathing in the beach air
  3. Walks through the sand
  4. Funny morning selfies
  5. Blueberry muffins
  6. The warmth of the summer sun
  7. Feeling organized and focused
  8. My sister coming back from NY for the week while I’m home
  9. Hanging out with my brother
  10. Good podcasts and audiobooks
  11. Spending time with my cat, Ned
  12. Car rides with the windows down
  13. Old stories about growing up
  14. Clean, warm laundry
  15. Outdoor showers after the beach
  16. Allergy medicine
  17. Home cooked Mac and cheese
  18. Afternoon naps
  19. Sleeping in my bed at home
  20. Local bagels
  21. Waking up to the sound of birds
  22. Good advice
  23. Vinyl music with my parents
  24. A clear sky full of stars at night
  25. The precious present
