Scream it, shout it, let out the feelings and emotions that trap and restrict us. These thoughts enter our minds and can so often feel suffocating without any kind of support. I’m encouraging everyone in 2019 to say how you feel, to be honest about what’s bothering you and speak it into existence. Only then, we can use gratitude to deal with these thoughts and feelings in the best ways.
As I write my gratitude for the day, I feel the pounding of my heart inside my chest. Each thump bringing life to my body. Automatically, my heart knows what muscles require healing and which parts of my body need attention. Even when I’m not in-tune or aware of what I need, my heart continues on.
Not every day feels like a blessing. There are times I feel challenged to write my gratitude and share what I’m thankful for when I’ve had a crap day or something is on my mind. I feel like I have to constantly remind myself to let things go, to move on from my pain.
This is where I need to follow my heart. Even on my worst days, as I suffer from mental torture and irreparable heartbreak – my heart continues to beat. Sometimes it feels like we just can’t win. Everything seems to be going wrong and we can’t find a solution.
We have the strength to carry on. Our heart continues to beat, bringing us closer to something greater. Gratitude reminds us we’ve made it this far. That the lessons we’ve learned are worth something. Follow your heart and continue to beat on – one day at a time.
This recipe is far from exact. It’s a mixture that often times requires a balance. Whatever your recipe looks like, be sure to share it with those you care most for. What do you value? What do you need for peace?
On this wonderful journey through life, I feel myself searching for more. Searching, looking for the next opportunity or thing that may bring me happiness.
I’m starting to learn that I don’t have to.
The best the Universe has to offer me has been right in front of me the whole time. It is with gratitude I feel this to be true. Nothing is as sweet or as fulfilling as the present moment. Nothing can take away from the power of right now.
So if you find yourself searching like me, stop and remember your breath. Use gratitude to tie you to this moment and let the rest figure itself out.
Letting people know I appreciate them is one of my favorite things to do. Whether that be over text or in person, it’s my hope that my gratitude for them can strengthen our bond. Sometimes it’s the little things that can make the biggest difference.
Through gratitude and reflection, I can bring myself back to the present. I take my time and write down thoughts from the day. I feel like I frame it the same way I clean my apartment. I need to make sure everything is in the place it needs to be before I can take on what’s next.
There’s been times in my life where I’ve been afraid to try. I don’t want to look foolish or incapable, so I don’t put myself out there. Learning comes from experience. Even if we don’t accomplish our goals, we can still use gratitude to reflect on the journey so far.
There’s no shame in failure.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.
– Winston Churchill
When we allow ourselves to dream, we have a chance to make a plan and work towards our goals. We can use gratitude throughout the process despite the outcome or the adversity. It starts with us.
