Featured image from a tough morning. I remember leaving my building around 4am to catch “the perfect sunrise” and all we found was the fog. I remember being so disappointed. I was already having a tough couple of days mentally and this didn’t meet my expectations. In the fog, we found a lone surfer. He was taking on the cold and unforgiving waves from what we could barely make out. Again and again, he fell into the water, only to get right back up. Life isn’t meant to be a constant wave back to the shore. There will be times you fail and times you have to pick yourself back up. The ocean, this planet, is full of life and opportunity. Finding ourselves in the middle of all of it can be difficult and overwhelming. Take it one day at a time. Be patient and recognize you’ve come so far. Think back to your very first-day’ surfing’ and how much you’ve improved. Even if you haven’t met your goal quite yet, you can climb back on the board and keep trying. 

Keep It Up (#31)

Sometimes the day can feel monotonous. Your routine is getting old and the day feels long. Keep going. Keep keeping on. Take it one day at a time. You’ll get there, wherever it is you’re headed.
